A priority of the clients on this project was that their home featured natural materials from the local area. Stone Restorations utilised basalt fieldstone from the property to construct feature gable walling to the main house and a large shed. We completed several sample walls to give the client the ability to select the exact finish that they wanted. Sandstone quoins and solid hardwood beams helped complete the feature walls.

This project involved the restoration of the sandstone gable end of Prescott Hall in the Founders building at Newington College. Project scope included cutting out and repointing of 100% of deteriorated joints, replacing and indenting string moulds, hood moulds, ashlar stones and floral bosses. Stone Restorations were also engaged to access and dismantle a severely deteriorated sandstone chimney which was in danger of collapse. Dimensions and templates of the stone chimney were taken with all stone shaped off site. We then rebuilt the chimney to its exact original dimensions, pointed and cleaned the sandstone.
