Newington College Founders Building Façade Restoration

This project involved the restoration of the sandstone gable end of Prescott Hall in the Founders building at Newington College. Project scope included cutting out and repointing of 100% of deteriorated joints, replacing and indented string moulds, hood moulds, ashlar stones and floral bosses. Stone Restorations were also engaged to access and dismantle a severely deteriorated sandstone chimney which was in danger of collapse. Dimensions and templates of the stone chimney were taken with all stone shaped off site. We then rebuilt the chimney to its exact original dimensions, pointed and cleaned the sandstone.
